Month of May, 1953.
The minutes of the April 1953
term were read and approved.
ine hneriff was ordered to
round up all neglected and aban
doned horses in the vicinity of
Rhea Creek area between Ruggs
and Balm Fork and that the said
horses be advertised and sold in
accordance with the statute made
and provided in such cases.
H. S. Murray and Morrow
County entered into an agree
ment whereas H. S. Murray grant
ed unto Morrow County the right
to set up a rock crusher and the
right to take rock from and upon
the following described property:
The North half of the Northeast
quarter of Section 18, T. 1 N, R
26 E. W. M.
This agreement to terminate
within 1 year from date, with the
exception that the County of
Morrow shall have the right to
keep a stock pile of rock crushed
upon the said land until the rock
crushed upon said land shall
have been removed therefrom
The County allowed the follow
ing Bangs' diseased claims to be
paid after July 1, 1953: Oren O.
Brace $10.61; John Healy $30.13:
Harry O'Donnell $16.00 and James
J. Hayes $8.00.
The Court ordered the pur
chase of the United States Code
for the County Law Library.
Sylvia McDaniel 'was appointed
Deputy Sheriff and Tax Collector
to take he place of Frances Mit
chell, resigned.
The Kilham Stationery and
Printing Co.'s bid of $178.00 was
the best bid offered for the print
ing 3250 triplicate tax receipts
for the year 1953-54.
The lone Fire Protection Dis
trict was illegally organized and
acting on the advice of the Dis
trict Attorney the withdrawal of
any further funds from the above
account is hereby ordered withheld.
A dance hall license was grant
ed to the Morrow County Fair
Board.
It was ordered that a public
hearing upon the intention of the
Court to establish a Cemetery
Maintenance district within the
boundries of School District No. 1
as the same is described in said
petition shall be held at the Mor
row County Courthouse in Hepp
ner, Oregon at 10:00 A. M. on the
8th day of June, 1953. Notice to
be published in the Heppner Ga
zette Times once a week for two
consecutive weeks prior to the
time fixed for said hearing.
The Court ordered the amount
of $500.00 in the Rodent fund
transferred to the Coyote Bounty
Fund to take care of the warrant
that may be issued against it.
The Court ordered that a Ceme
tery Maintenance District be and
the same is hereby created and
that the name of said District
shall be the Boardman Cemetery
Maintenance District and it was
further ordered that an election
shall be held in said District on
June 15, 1953 for the election of
3 Directors as provided by law.
The Court ordered the Treas
urer to issue a check in the
amount of $3952.39 payable to H.
C. Hawkins in payment for the Actual For
construction of an outdoor fire- Fiscal year
place for the Courthouse park. July 1. 1950

In accordance with the provisions of the "Local Budget Law" (Sections 110-1201 to 1101215, O. C. L. A., as amended) notice is hereby given that the budget commit
tee of Morrow County, Oregon, in compliance with said law, prepared and adopted on May 1, 1953, the budget estimates for Morrow County, Oregon, for the ensuing
fiscal year July 1, 1953 to Juno 30, 1951. as set forth in the accompanying schedules. All persons are hereby notified that on Tuesday the 30th day of June, 1953, at 10
A. M., in the County Judge's office at the Court House in Heppner. Oregon, said budget estimates may be discussed with the County Court, the levying board for said
Morrow County, Oregon, and any person subject to the proposed tax levy or tax levies will be heard in favor of or against said tax levy or tax levies or any part
thereof.
The outstnding indebtedness of Morrow County Oregon, on May 1, 1953, consisted of $18,500.00 In serial road bonds.
