1953 Fords Go On
Display Here Friday
Models of the new 1953 Ford
will go on display In Heppner on
Friday, C. W. Rosewall, local Ford
dealer announced this week.
The new models, marking the
50th anniversary of the Ford mo
tor company are designed with a
low, road -hugging look and an
nounce some outstanding Im
provements in suspension.
The new models are introduced
without any increase in present
prices.

OREGON'S amazing Green Guards, youth auxiliary of Keep Oreon
Green, since it's organizaticn in 1943 has enrolled 50,000 boys and
girls on the public service job of preventing forest fires. Judy Scott,
8, of 23C0 Bluff Street, Salem, has the honor of being the 50,000th
Oregon Green Guard. She receives her certificate of membership
from former Governor Charles A. Sprague, who is Marion County
Keep Oregon Green Chairman, in ceremonies at Salem last week.
Green Guards have built up an astounding record of public ser
vice, the ex-governor said,.and undoubtedly by alert action have
been responsible fer saving many forest fires from spreading.
Membership is open to any Oregon boy or girl between the ages
of 8-16.
