Young Mother's Club
Plan Christmas Gifts
For Hospital Patients
The Heppner Young Mother's
cjub met Monday evening Dec. 1
at the home of Hrs. Kenneth Keel

Seven boxes of home made

manent patients at Pioneer Me
morial hospital. Money was do
nfcted for purchase of fruits to be
gjven those patients who could
net enjoy candy.
I It was decided to purchase a
Hjagazine subscription for these
snie patients, to be presented as
a Christmas gift from the club to
the 'entire ward.
I It was decided to hold a series
of meetings in January for the
ptj-pose of receiving textile
pointing instructions from Mabel
Heath and Betty Warren. The
first meeting is scheduled at the
Keeling residence. Mrs. Paul
Brown will show a movie to the
gioup in February on "Child
Care."

Christmas Party
The Ileouner Riding Club, the
Wranglers', held their meeting on
Tuesday, December 2, at 8:00
p. m. in the Heppner Club House.
The 'meeting consisted of the
Christmas nartv. with the" ex
change of gifts, and the election
of new officers.
Bob Gammell, president, intro
duced three new members, Gus
Steers and Mr. and Mrs. Riley
Munkers.
Club members elected Ihe fol
lowing people to hold offices for
the ensuing term: president, Cor
nett Green; vice president, Roice
Fulleton; secretary, Katie Mona-
han; reporter, Barbara Jordan;
! directors, Harold Evans and Fred
Mankin.

Green, gave a speech and then he
adjourned the meeting.
The refreshment committee;

Katie Monahan: served ginger
bread topped with whipped cream
and hot chocolate or coffee.
Mrs. Ralph Beamer won the

tables of pinochle were in play at
the B. P. O. Elks ladies night card
party Thursday evening. High in
bridge was received bv Mrs. R.
Stephen Thompson and second by
Mrs. W. Oscar George. In pin
ochle, Mrs. Phillip Blakney re
ceived high and Mrs. Van Hub
bard, second. Mrs. Loyal Parker
received the door prize. Hosts for

Plans were made for the an
nual Christmas party which will
be held on the evening of Decem
ber 19th following regular lodge.
This is open to all Oddfellows,
Rebekahs, their wives and escorts.
There will be a gift exchange
and a silver offering for presenta
tion to the members residing in
the Oddfellows' Home in Port
land. Mrs. Donald Robinson Is
chairman of this committee with
Mrs. Victor Groshens, Mrs. Scott
Furlong, Mrs. Charles Beckett,
Mrs. Roy Thomas, Mrs. Blanche
Brown and Jesse C. Payne assisting.
