COURT
PROCEEDINGS
Court Proceedings for July, 1952,
The minutes of the June, 1952
term were read and approved.
The Budget for the Fiscal year
July 1, 1952 to June 30, 1953 was
ordered by the Court accepted as
published and the levy is hereby
ordered extended on the tax rolls
of Morrow County this 2nd day of
July, 1952.
The Court ordered the follow
ing city levies to be extended by
the Assessor:
City of Heppner .... ... $18,453.00
City of lone $1,347.00
City of Lexington $2,718.00
City of Boardman $1,874.03
also a 10 mill levy on all taxable
property in the City of Heppner,
heretofore approved by the voters
for the purpose of constructing a
sewer system. Also ordered the
following levies extended on the
tax rolls $1,085.54 of the Irrigon
fiural Fire Protection District; for
the Fiscal year July 1, 1952 to
June 30, 1953; $5,000.00 on the
lone Rural Fire Protection Dis
trict; .059 cent per acre levy on all
taxable property for Fire Fatrol
jiurposes as set out by the State
Forester; $8,944.82 for the Spruce
Hud worm Control in the forest as
set out by the State of Oregon;
and the Rural School District Levy
of $422,906.00 for the Fiscal year
July 1, 1952 to June 30, 1953 to be
placed upon the tax rolls of the
county, which said levy includes
all of the school districts of the
county. Also a levy of $0,000.00
for the payment of bonds and in
terest for School District No. 10;
$8500.00 for the payment of bonds
and interest for School District
No. 25; $30,000.00 for payment of
bonds and interest for School
District No. 35.
The Court ordered that the sal
aries of the Office Help and Jani
tor be increased as follows:
Deputy Assessor from $225.00
to $250.00 per month.
- Deputy Clerk from $215.00 to
$240.00 per month.
Deputy Tax Collector from
$250.00 to $275.00 per month
Sheriff Office Help from $150.00
to $1G0.G6 per month.
Janitor from $250.00 to $275.00
per month.
An agreement between Morrow
County and the Oregon State
Highway Commission, abandon
ing to Morrow County all those
Dortions of the Columbia River
Highway No. 2 and the access
road between the old highway
and the new section at Castle
Hock, that the said resolution be
accepted and made a portion of
the Morrow County road system
and subject to all the statutes
governing the jurisdiction of the
Morrow County Court over the
County road system. That a copy
of the above mentioned resolution
be filed with the County Clerk for
reference and one copy of the
same dispatched to the Oregon
State Highway Commission.
The Court ordered the follow
ing Bangs' Disease Control claims
paid: Lora M. Mover $8.00; Henry
B. Gantenbein $10.00 and Arthur
C. and Bryce W. Keene $16.00.
The Court ordered the Morrow
County Treasurer to Issue a check
in the amount of $951.25, the
amount which heretofore was
paid to Morrow County by Donald
and Charles Mchlligott to be spe
cifically used for the oiling of the
said McElligott Road and the said
amount has been placed in the
Road Trust Fund, payable to the
Russell Olsen Construction Com
pany for the oiling the said road
and charged against the Road
Trust Fund.
The Court ordered the amount
of $296.92 be transferred from the
General Fund to the hospital fund
to take care of the overdraft In
this amount.
The Court ordered the transfer
of $1500.00 from the General Fund
to the Hospital Improvement
Fund. It is further ordered that
as soon as enough 1952-53 taxes
are collected for the Hospital Im
provement Fund, the amount of
$1500.00 is to be returned to the
General Fund with out further or
dor of this Court.
The amount of $695.00 In the
Rodent Appropriation for Morrow
County for the use of the Court
for the control of predatory ani
mals or so much thereof as shall
be matched with an equal amount
of Oregon State Game Commis
sion funds, to be contributed for
the use of the Oregon State Game
Commission under its "Predatory
Animal Control Fund" In copera
tion with the U. S. Fish and Wild
Life service for predatory animals
control in Marrow County.
The Court ordered, that the sum.
of $575.00 out of the Rodent Ap
propriation of Morrow county be
set aside for the use of the United
States Department of Agriculture,
bureau of Biological Survey, In
the control of predatory animals
in Morrow County, said sum to be
matched with an equal amount
by the State of Oregon and to be
used only in the event that It is
so matched.
