The Home Nursing classes will
be held at the Masonic hall be

class will be April 15; the third

fifth the 21st; the sixth the 22nd
and the seventh the 24th. The
afternoon classes will begin
promptly at 2 o'clock and end
at 4 p. m. The evening classes
will begin at 6:45 and end at 9
p. m. Mrs. Mervin Leonard of
Lexington will be the instructor.
Ronald Baker, son of Mr. and
Mrs. E. M. Baker and a student
at Washington State College, was
initiated recently into the Inter
Collegiate Knights, an honorary
service organization of under
class men at the college.
Garnald Swanson underwent a
major operation on his spine at
the Providence hospital in Port
land Friday of last week. He is
getting along satisfactorily. His
daughter, Jean Ann, and his
mother, Mrs. Mary Swanson went
to Portland Thursday of last
week to be with him.
Mrs. H. 0. Ely returned home
from the hospital in Heppner last
week.
Mr. and Mrs. Berl Akers and

Tuesday afternoon in the Lex
ington ladies aid room, honoring
Mrs. Wavne Papineau. Games

evening. At the business meet
ing the grange voted to give $10

in the St. Patrick motif. The

Thp Livestock 4-H club held a
meeting Suntad afternoon in the
basement of the Co-operative
church. Mrs. L. L. Howton and
Mrs. Kenneth Smouse served re
frpshmpnts after the meeting.
The Jolly Chef 4-H club met at
the home of Mrs. L. A. McCabe
Saturday afternoon. Grace Mc
Cabe demonstrated cooking rice.
Mrs. E. M. Baker is their leader.
Their next meeting will be April
5th.
The 4-H Trail Trotters held a
meeting Sunday March 9 and
spent some time in riding. Mrs.
Martin Bauernfelnd of Morgan is
the leader.
The school budget was ap
proved at a meeting March 13 at
the school and it will be sent to
the five-man board. There were
7 percent at the meeting. The
possibility of another teacher be
ing hired in the grades was dis
cussed, but since no room will
have more than 28 for some time
it would be not ne necessary.
