Friends are happy to loam that
Mrs. Ina B. Nichols who under
went major surgery at the Pio
neer Memorial hospital in Hepp
ner is improving as fast as can
be expected.
Joe Clark, who spent several
days in the hospital in Heppner
last week was able to return to
his home.
The small daughter of Mj. and
Mrs. Bill Nickols was taken to the
hospital Friday suffering with
pneumonia.
Ida Buchanan, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Charlie Buchanan left
Sunday for Ordnance where she
will be employed. She was taken
over by her brother and family
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buchanan of
that city, who were here to spend
the day.
Mr. and Mrs. McNeely and son,
sister of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Ms
Fadden spent thff weekend litre
from their home in Hermiston.
Louis Allyn is spending some
time at the honw of his parent

Mrs. Eldon Padberg was also a
Walla Walla visitor on Monday
with Mrs. Davidson and Mis. Do
herty. Earl Miller has been on the
sick list this past week.
The Young Adult class of the
Sunday School was hosts to a
pot luck dinner in "the dining room
of the Christian Church. A fine
time was enjoyed by all who at
tended. Mrs. Homer Hughes and new
daughter have returned to their
home in Lexington.

March of Dimes race for covering
a certain distance with dimes, but
the Sophomores are leading in
the race for the most money.
Girl's volleyball intramurals
began Monday with the game
between the Seniors and the
Freshmen. The Freshmen won,
the score unmentionable.
The games will be played on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
noons with different students "as
referees. After volleyball, bad
minton, archery, ping pong and
tennis are being planned for.
