Cutsforth, who has been attending school in Portland is spending some time at homo in preparation of her marriage later in the month. Mr. and Mrs. George Steagall are the proud parents of a baby daughter, born New Year's day at the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Heppner. The young lady has been named Vickie Darlene. New Year's Eve and dinner guests at the K. E. McFadden home were Mr. and Mrs. M. Mc Neely and son of Hermiston, Mr. 'and Mrs. C. ('. Jones and family and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McMillan. The Frances McMillan home was the scene of a Lovely shower Monday night when the high school O. A. A. girls gave a cradle shower honoring Mrs. Johnnie Edwards. Garm were played with Pcna Marquardt and Mrs. Emma Brcshcrs winning the prizes. Mrs. Wilson, who makes her home with Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Ray, is a patient in the Pioneer Memorial hospital in Heppner, following a heart attack at her homo here. Clarancc Buchanan is at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Buchanan from his work at McNary Dam. His type of construction jobs are shut down due to the freezing wea ther. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Cutsforth and small daughter are at their country home again after a stay at the home of his mother, Mrs. Aita Cutsforth in Heppner. The I. O. O. F. Hall is being torn down and remodeled by a num her of the Odd Fellows. The old dance hall is the part which is undergoing the work. The build ing will be torn away from the rest of the" hall. Sunday they worked all day with the women fixing the dinner at noon. Some of the men worked again on Mon day. Mrs. A. F. Majeske returned to her home Monday after a visit at the Rondal Ansted home in Medford. Patty Majeske who is attending school in Portland, went down with her mother, but returned to Portland Jan. 1, while her mother remained for a visit. Walt Wallace and Denny Mc Millan motored to Hubbard one day last week taking Mrs. Anna Wallace and Shirley Denser, who had spent the holidays visiting at the Hermann Wallace and J. F. McMillan homes. Eugene Sawyer (Butch) re: turned last week from McMinn vilel where he visited his aunt and his mother. Grange will be held at the Lex. Inglon Grange Hall Saturday at 8. p. m. Please try and attend and be there at 8 p. m. as they are stressing the starting on time. Re freshments will he served after the meeting. Farm Bureau met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 0. W. Cutsforth on Tuesday night. A pot-luck dinner was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Hunt were visitors in The Dalles on Monday. All club members, with the exception of Dick Williamson were present. The films "Carrott Pie" and "County Fair" were shown. Plans were made for the Febru ary meeting which will be held at the Club House at the Fair Grounds, on Sunday February 10. At this meeting a panel discus sion will be held on the need for water by livestock. Club members were impressed with the flocx of Cheviot ewes that Judy Thompson has as her 4-H project. This is the only flock of Cheviot ewes in Morrow County. Sally Palmer and Carole Anne Anderson are the newest owners of Jersey Heifer calves from the Tillamook Dairy Herd Associa tion. Both girls received their calves Tuesday morning. LEXINGTON CLOTHING III CLUB The Lexington Clothing III Club mef al the Lexington grade school Wednesday the 9th. Officers presiding were Darlene Balser, president; Joan Breeding, vice-president and Beverly Nolan, secretary. Other members pre sent were Phillis Nolan, Rieta Graves and Marilyn Munkers. Selection of patterns for dresses and sports wear was included in the discussion. Club members plan to use a printed type pat tern and wrinkle resistant cotton material for garments. The mem bers of this group will make a dress, a sports costume, and learn to make difficult mends. Mrs. John Graves, 4-H leader, discussed each project with the club members. Marilyn Munk ers turned in her project on mend ing. Report cards for each member were filled out and given to Mrs, Graves, the leader. -t r m .... Members of this new clothing club made needle cases and pin cushions. Every member brought a well equipped sewing box. The FUTURE KNITTERS OF HEPPNER The, Future Knitters of Hepp ner organized with the follow ing officers elected: Nancy Fer guson, .president; Rieta Graves, vice-president; Loree Stager, sec retary; Judy Thompson, report er. Other members are Patricia and Shirley Peck. Meetings will be held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month. The girls plan to knit sox and sweaters.
