New Pontiac Gets
Customer Attention
"Public reaction to new '52
Pontiac models has never been
better than that evidenced at the
initial showing early in Decem
ber", Jim Farley, Pontiac dealer
at Heppner, declared today, re
porting exceptional attendance.
"Our showroom was crowded
at announcement time, and en
thusiastic people keep coming
in. The new cars are receiving as
thorough an inspection as I can
recall over many years of new
model introductions," Mr. Farley
said. 'The average American
seems never tO lose interest in
automobiles and what the auto
mobile industry is doing to pro
vide improved personal trans
portation for him."
Mr. Farley said that Pontiac is
especially a focal point this year
because of new engineering de
velopments, "dual-range" driving
through the use of higher com
pression engines, new dual-range
hydra-matic transmissions and
an economy rear axel gear ratio.
He explained that these elements
comprise an entirelynew Pontiac
power train which permits maxi
mum flexibility and economy in
performance from congested city
traffic to open country driving.
