Page 2 Heppner Gazette Times, Thursday, April 19, 1951 EDITORIAL 7 NEWSPAPER PUBLISHERS -'ASSOCIATION NATIONAL EDITORIAt Trials and Tribulations Until you have been a country weekly editor, publisher, printer-operator, you cannot appreciate to the full what the Gazett Times staff has under gone to get out this week's issue. Everything was sailing along smoothly and there was an air of optimism relative to geting the paper out on time when on Wednesday afternoon the linotype began to give trouble and this trouble grew rapid ly into serious proportions. After spending many hours trying to put the machine back into pro duction and seemingly getting farther from that point every minute, the staff decided it was futile to waste more precious hours and that the thing to do would be to impose on some kind neighbor publisher. In this instance the Condon Globe Times was the kind neighbor. We are indebted to Publisher Stewart Hardie and his staff for the use of the Globe Times Intertype Thursday night. We trust our readers and some of the contrib utors will bear with us if the news situation has been briefed in some instances. Where copy will not appear out of date it will be held over for next week. In the meantime a couple of printers hope to get a bit of sleep before another issue is due. 30 Years Ago HEPPNER GAZETTE TIMES Thunsday, April 21, 1921 A baby girl was born on April 15 to Mr. and Mrs. Wes Stevens who reside near Hardman.
