Mrs. Mary Swanson gave a history of the Lundell family and Oscar Lundell gave a talk on fhe name which was originally Hild- ing. The following officers were re-elected: President, Oscar Lun dell; vice president, E. R. Lun dell.; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. O. Lindstrom; historian, Mrs. Mary Swanson, and sergeant-at-arms, Algott Lundell. Those coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Harland Lundell and child ren of Boise, Ida., Mr. and Mrs. Norman Swanson and children and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Tucker of Portland, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Crutcher and Mr. and Mrs. Ken neth Crutcher and son Lee of Boring, and Mr. and Mrs. Elmo McMillan of Salem. The American Legion auxiliary met at the hall Tuesday evening of last week. Mrs. Eldon Padberg chairman of rehabilitation urges anyone wanting to give gifts to the gift shop for veterans to bring them to the next meeting Dec. 5 or leave them at the Wal. ter Corley home. A play, "He Couldn't Marry Five," will be given the forst part of next year. The unit was put out jars in the business houses for money for gifts for the Yanks. $2 was dona ted to the veterans at Walla Wal la. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Victor Rietmann. A Thanksgiving community dinner was held at the I. O. O. F. hall in Morgan again this year. Until recent years this was an annual affair for many years. The people of the Morgan district have sanded the floor of the old school house, put on a new roof and elcefric wiring. This will be used for community affairs. The I. O. O. F. hall was partly re- shingled. New uniforms will be pur chased for members of the lone school band. Dinner guests at the Dixon Smith home on Thanksgiving were Mr. and Mrs. Dan O'Hara of The Dalles, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Smith of Heppner and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Smith. Mrs. Oscar Peterson was host ess at a stork shower at her home Nov. 17 in honor of Mrs. Edgar Collison of Heppner.
