NORTH MORROW COUNTY 4-H ACHIEVEMENT PARTY Achievement pins and cards were presented to 47 4-H club members from Boardman and Ir rigon communities Saturday night as part of the annual North Morrow Achievement par ty. Special awards were present ed to those members doing out standing work, while nine lead ers were honored for 100 percent completion of clubs, and six leaders as finishing their first year of leadership. The party, beginning with pot luck supper at 7:30 p. m. was at. tended by approximately 100 per sons, club members, their par ents and younger brothers and sisters. The program opened with pledges to the U. S. flag and 4-H pledge. Nathan Thorpe, chair man of the North Morrow county 4-H council, welcomed th egroup while county agents N. C. Ander son and Maud Casswell presented awards and recognition. Mrs. H. O. Califf, Irrigon handled sever al numbers on the program. Leaders recognized with certi ficate of achievement for 100 per cent completion of clubs were Mrs. Leroy Fussell, Mrs. C. W. Waldron, Mrs. Cecil Hamilton, Mrs. Oscar Veele, Nathan Thorpe, Ralph Skoubo, Boardman; and Mrs. Louis Shade and Mrs. Ida Slaughter, Irrigon. Winning county awards were: Safety program, Larry Thorpe; Poultry achievement, Delores Carlson, Sharon Fussell, Carol Hamilton; Dairy, Delores Carlson, Maxine Sicard; Garden, Marilyn Barham, Gracia Veele, Richard Barham; Oregon Wool Growers auxiliary sheep project, Nancy Hoadley; Demonstration contest Safeway Stores) Carmen Wijl son, Nancy Graybeal; Stalcup registered spotted Poland China gilt, Marilyn Barham; farm bu reau essay contest, Fred Knight, first and Carmen Wilson second. The film, "4-H Headlines" was enjoyed by the group. Arrangements are completed for the big achievement party for south Morrow county to be held Friday evening at the fair pavilion. This year's potluck sup. per will be served as a banquet beginning at 6:30 p. m. Awards and recognition will be given during the banquet with recrea tion to follow. Committees con. sisting of all 4-H leaders and a goodly number of parents are working hard making prepara tions for the event.
