Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsay and
granddaughter Arleta McCabe
spent the weekend in The Dalles.
Mr. and Mrs. Adon Hamlett
left Saturday for Hartford Conn,
where they will attend an in
surance school for a month. They
will spend a month going and
returning.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Cannon and
Mrs. Echo Palmateer left the
first of the week for California
where they will visit relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Matt
hews went to Bandon last week
to attend a reunion of the Matt
hews family.
A Stork shower was given Mrs.
Jack Healy Thursday afternoon
at the home of Mrs. Pete Cannon.
Refreshments were served by
Mrs Walter Corley, Mrs. Ernest
McCabe and Mrs. Cannon.
Mrs. Hazel Beers returned to
her home in Eagle Creek after
(spending several weeks with her
sister, Mrs. Echo Palmateer.
Among those going to Mt.
Adams hucklebeerrying recently
were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hell
ker, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lundell,
Mr. and Mrs. Algott Lundell and
Fred and George Ely.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Morgan
and children are on a vacation
trip to Portland and the coast,
Edison Morgan and children
were visitors in The Dalles last
week.
Visitors at the Garland Swan-
son home are Mr. and Mrs. Phil
ip Miller and son of Los Angeles
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bonney
and children of Portland. Mr.
Miller is a brother and Mrs. Bon
ney is a niece of Mrs. Swanson.
Several from here spent Sun
day at Lehman Springs.
The H. E. C. of Willows grange
met at the hall Friday afternoon
at a no host affair.
Rev. and Mrs. Alfred Shirley
met his brother Harry Shirley of
Jerome Idaho Tuesday at Pedle
'ton. He will visit the Shirleys for
I a while. He has lived in England
until the past year.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ware of
Olympia Wash are visiting at
the home of their daughter, Mrs
Noel Dobyns this week.
Wallace Coleman spent a few
days last week at Colfax, Wash
John Skuzeski Jr and family
are now living at Lebanon.
Church services were . held at
the Valby church Sunday con
ducted by Rev. Luther Cornay.
Ray Dale was injured and his
car wrecked when he was struck
by a wheat truck at Lexington
Saturday afternoon. He was on
his way to the mountains. He
was taken to the Pioneer Memo
rial hospital and later released.
He was cut about the face and
was badly shaken up.
Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bristow are
vacationing at the coast.
Jim and Lonnie McCabe re
turned from central Oregon with
two antelope. They spent the
week-end there hunting.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ingalts
and A. A. McCabe of Adams were
visiting relatives here Sunday.
