It's purpose was to enable the Home Ec girls to observe the mental, physical and social development of chil dren. The girls made some of the toys and equipment earlier in the year. The remainder was pur chased with funds donated by the Sears & Roebuck Foundation for that purpose. Children attending the school were Patty Barger Vieki Barratt, David George, Tommy Gonty, j David Hanna, Anna Marie Harsh- man, Diane and Karen McCurdy, Betty Pettyjohn, and Johnny Scritsmier. Features of the playschool that kthe children enjoyed were the sandboxt the building blocks cor ner, the doll house, paint stand, table with modeling clay, the phonograph, and the big dishpan in which they could wash their hands after playing with clay or paint. Another center of interest was around the white rats, with which the Home Ec classes have been conducting nutrition experi ments Mrs. Lena Searcy of Hillsboro is a guest at 4he C. A. Ruggles home for a few days. Mrs. Searcj flew from Spokane Wednesday evening where she had visited wit hother members of her fam ily on her return from an exten sive trip around the United States. She attended the General Federation of Women's Clubs convention in Tampa, Fla and has been away from home since April 17.
