The small child of Mr. and
Mrs. Luke Schoolcraft got its arm
caught in a washing machine
wringer Monday morning and
was rushed to Fossil where it
was learned her arm is severely

The American Legion auxiliary
has been in charge of the cancer
fund drive the past week, with
Mesdames George Smith, Ernie
Wall, Larry Clark, Don Carlson,
Luke Hall, Harlan Schroeder, Ed
Wham and Mrs. Gertrude Beard
canvassing the town. They also

this week, selling a large amount
at the ball game.
The Kinzua Shriners and aux

Saturday evening. The banquet

4-H Show And Sale

Oregon Wheat Growers League
4 H Show and Sale at The Dalles.
June 6, 7 and 8 will set new show
records, predicted Manager Eu
gene Courtney.
About 135 boys and girls have
Indicated their intention to show
their livestock, compared to 99
last year. On display will be
about 135 fat steers, 85 lambs,
and 66 hogs. This year entries
will be permitted from all wheat
growing areas in the state.
Climaxing the r.how again this
year will be the auction sale of
prime meat animals on the final
night of the event, at The Dalles
auction yards, with Auctioneer
Frank Wink and his sons in
charge.
Banquets and other entertain
ment, including a boat ride on
the Columbia river, again have
been planned by the operating
board.
