serious illness of Mrs. Piepers

not even know the family. She is
in the Good Samaritan hospital.

The rod and gun club held its
Thanksgiving turkey shoot Sun
day. A large crowd was present.
Besides shooting off the turkeys,
Bingo was played by young and
old. The auxiliary ladies served
sandwiches and coffee and pop.
They also ran the Bingo game.
Glen Jorgenson from the Pen
dleton forest service office and
Glen Parsons from the Heppner
office, and a representative from
Portland were here one day this
week attending to forest service
business with the Kinzua Pine
Mills management. They also
went through the plant.
Mrs. Sterling Wham and Mrs.
Lyle Ostrander attended the Le
gion auxiliary conference for
presidents and secretaries at
Portland last wek, returning Sat
urday. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Coleman
spent several days at Portland
this week attending to business.
Joe Fisher stayed with Mr. and
Mrs. O. D. Baker.

to see her grandson. Melvin. who
is ill. and to visit at the home
of her son and wife. Mr. and !
Mrs. Dallas McDaniel.
Mrs. Victor Lovgren and chil
dren of Heppner came to Kinzua
Friday evening, and Mrs. Lov
gren and Mrs. Owen Leathers
took Mrs. Harlan Adams-to John
Day Saturday, where she had x-
rays taken. They revealed both
fractures of her breast and back
bone knitting good, and some
time near Christmas her cast can
be removed and a steel brace put
on. Mrs. Adams can ne up ana
about her home now.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moore of
Camp 5 were at the turkey shoot
Sunday. They report the road is
quite bad.
