Chuckle had been ill there for several weeks following a brain operation. Funeral ser vices were held from the Canby funeral home in Canby Saturday afternoon with the Rev. A. J. Gor don from Salem officiating. Miss Phyllis Battleson sang "Your Sweet Little Rosebud Has Leit You." Chuckie leaves to mourn his passing his mother and fath er and sister Gloria; also his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Rands, Clyde Tannehill and Hugh brown Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller ind Rev. Chas. Eble were respon sible for many young folk being able to attend the Christian En deavor meeting at La Grande on Sunday. Those going were the adviser, Mrs. Fred Smith, Grace Miller, Elnora Earwood, Wilma Hug, Marlene Fisk, Sharon Fus sell, Yvonne Rasmussen, Viola Worden, Wilbur Piatt and Don ald Gillespie. Don't forget the Ladies' Aid bazaar, which will be held Fri day, Dec. 3, at the grange hall. The eats and fun will begin at 6 p.m. with amusement all the evening and winding up with a program and the auctioning of the handiwork. I. T. Pearson returned home last week from Texas where he had spent a couple of weeks with his mother, whom he had not seen for many years. Visitors one day last week at the W. L. Miss Asta Skoubo who recently returned from Palmer, Alaska, where she was employed as a nurse is now nursing in the Em anuel hospital. Week-end guests at the Frank Cloclesser home were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wright and baby of Oregon City. Mrs. Art Allen and Mrs. Clyde Tannehill spent Friday in The Dalles. Ide has spent several years in the service and has a rating of captain. Mrs. Ide and Mrs. Root are sisters. Harold Baker, son of Mrs. Ade line Baker, left Thursday for Great Falls, Mont. Baker has fin ished his boot training and has been on furlough for the past ten days, coming from Texas. Joel Neal, young son of Mr and Mrs. Clifford Neal, has ar rived and entered this school. Neals recently purchased and i moved to the L. B. Danels farm, !
