It is as old as business it self. Advertising was carved on tablets of stone; it was give nexpression by the town crier centuries before radio came upon the air; it was laboriously written on sheets of parchment before the advent of movable types. Invention of the printing press and the adoption of mov able type in printing gave advertising its first real boost. Since that time many forms of advertising have develop ed, some of them giving the printed word stiff competi tion, but today, in spite of inroads made by competitive forces, newspaper advertising stands out as the most efficient service in establishing markets, or in putting your message over to the public.
