In voicing this appeal today, Leslie R. French, VA training of ficer for this area, explained that one- and two-month overpay ments were continuing in consid erable numbers. "Most of these excess pay menst can be prevented," French said. 'They are usually checks sent out after a veteran stops his training but before the VA is told about it. In the past two months, several Oregon schools have been slow in reporting drop-outs." An ex-GI who interrupts or completes his training is nnt on. titled to subsistence after that date, and the law requries that he return any overpayments, the VA aide pointed out. If he falls to arrange repayment with the VA, he faces loss of future edu cational benefits under the Gl Bill.
