26 Morrow Veterans
Obtain G. I. Loans
Veterans of Morrow county
have obtained 26 G.I. loans since
March. 1946, the Veterans Ad

'nformed Charles M. Cox, con

These loans, counted up to the
end of October, have amounted
to $121,502.58, including guaran

In the three basic categories,
this county's definitely commit
ted loans include: On homes, 16
totaling $83,220.96; on farms, 7
amounting to $28,339.50, and on
businesses, 3 for $9,942.12.
Multnomah county, with its
large population and big home
loan business, led the state with
2,764 loans. Next ten in order
were: Marion, 679; Klamath, 626;
Washington, 439; Lane, 408;
Clackamas, 355; Deschutes, 276;

Some 1,174 loans with guaran
ty commitments were made be
tween the start or the program

The 10,300 G.I. loan approvals
counted thus far for Oregon also
include several hundred now be
ing processed or in stages of
building construction, and others
delayed or never closed lor var
ious reasons, the VA saw.

This allergy center will serve
veterans in the entire Northwest,
as the shortage of trained aller
gists makes impossible at pre
sent such units at other VA hos
pitals in the area, Mr. Cox point
ed out.
Complete laboratory facilities
are being installed and the cen
ter is being developed under di
rection of Dr. Robert L. Benson,
Portland allergy specialist.
