AUTOMOBILE DRIVERS
Oregon, with only one percent
of the nation's population, has
five per cent of all dual control
cars assigned to high schools for
driver training purposes in the
nation this year, the Oregon
State Motor association disclosed
today.
"With 88 Oregon teachers spe
cially trained in driver educa
tion, and 23 dual control cars as
signed to the high school pro
gram in the state, Oregon steps
into the fore in this Important
phase of accident prevention in
t. affic," according to Ray Con
way, manager of the association.
Cars are assigned to high
schools that qualify under Am
erican Automobile association
standards. Qualifications of
schools must be passed on by the
state AAA affiliate which, in Or
egon, is the Oregon State Motor
association, Conway pointed out.

progress in the high school driv
er training program, commend
ing the 6 high schools that have
instituted complete driver train
ing programs, including class
room instruction and road train
