Council Chambers, and the polls will

NER. OREGON that the Charter of
the City of Heppner. Oregon, be
amended by adding thereto Article
to read as follows:
Article
For the purpose of providing
funds with which to bulla a reser
voir, and repair, extend, and Im
prove the water system and water
filpe lines of the City, the Council
s authorized to Issue and sell wa
ter bonds of the City in the sum
of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars
(I75.0OO.0O). said bonds shall be
the direct general obligations of the
City of Heppner, Oregon.
The Council shall make an addi
tional special tax levy each year In
a sum sufficient to pay the interest
on the bonds hereby authorized
and to retire the principal thereof
as it matures.
Neither the debt limitations nor
the tax limitation contained in the
Charter of the city shall apply to
the bonds hereby authorized.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that the fol
lowing ballot title Is adopted for said
amendment:

to said election, which posted notice
shall state the time, place and purposes

Kinzua played their first base
ball game Sunday on their home
diamond with Arlington. Bill
Green pitched a 9-inning win
ning game for Kinzua, 19-7. Ar
lington used three pitchers. A
large crowd was out. Kinzua
plays Heppner at Heppner Sun
day. Roy Davis has been sick and
spent several days in The Dalles
hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Isom and
daughter of Heppner were Kin
zua visitors on Monday, going
through the plant.
Edgar Albert and Carl McDan
iel of Heppner were in Kinzua
on business on Monday.
Lillian Schott spent the Easter
vacation with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Schott. Betty Lewis
of Bend was a visitor at the
Schott home through the vaca
tion. Miss Lewis is Jim Lewis's
daughter, and used to live here,
