service has been increased by 277,000, of which 206,000 were
added in the first six months of this year-an unequaled in
crease for any corresponding period in the history of our

Thousands of additional telephones are being installed each

Pacific Coast is continuing to grow at a rapid rate and new
applications for service have been pouring in at double the
rate of the corresponding period year ago.

every exchange, stringing thousands of miles
of wire.
