Marriage Vows
Spoken at lone
Mrt. Echo Palmateei
Miss Luella Armstrong and
George C. Gordon were married at
6:30 p. m. June 5 at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Newton Miller with
Rev. Fletcher Forster ot Heppner
officiating- Mrs. Miller was the ma
tron of honor and Mr. Miller the
best man. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin
Lindstrom were guests. The bride
wore a teal green suit with white
accessories. She was a student in
the lone high school. Mi. Gordon is
a carpenter for the Union Pacific
railroad. They left for a trip to the
coast
The study meeting of the Topic
club met at the home of Mrs- E.
R. Lundell Friday afternoon with
12 members and one guest present.
The following officers were elected
for the coming year: president, Mrs.
Milton Morgan; vice president, Mrs.
Noel Dobyns, secretary-treasurer,
Mrs. Victor Rietmann; librarian,
Mrs. Echo Palmateer. The club do
nated $5 to the lone Public Library.
The book, "Chicken Every Sunday"
by Rose Mary Taylor was reviewed
by Mrs. Herbert Ekstrom. Ice cream
cookies and coffee were served by
the hostess.es Mrs. Lundell and
Mrs- Ekstrom.
Mrs. Orville Buchanan was a vis
itor at the Fred Buchanan home.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hcliker and
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buschke spent
last week in Ritter and also visited
A. A. McCabe who is staying there.
Mrs. Ralph Coats of Ephrata,
Wash., spent last Saturday with I
her son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Waller Corky. J

week where they attended the Rose
Festival and also visitid Mrs. Pal
mateer's sister Mrs. Hazel Beers of
Eagle Creek.
Mrs. Franklin Ely is attending a
two weeks summer school at the
Southern Ortgon College of Edu
cation at Ashland. Mrs. Ely is a
teacher in the lone grade school.
Those leaving Tuesday 'or the
4.H summer school at Oregon State
college are Carletta Olden, Patricia
Drake, Ruby Ann Rietmann, Lola
Ann McCabe, Delight Biddle, Jane
Seehafer, Ingrid Herman, Helmuth
Herman, Lewis Carlson and the
leader, Mrs. L. A. McCabe-
Ralph Kincaid, Paul and Sammy
Barnett with Mrs. Ray Barnett at
tended the youths' camp at Battle
mountain last week.
The social meeting of the Topic
club will be held at the home of
Mrs. E. R. Lundell Saturday after
noon, June 22.
The HJS.C. of Willows grange
will have a pot luck dinner at the
John Ransier home June 21.
The P.N.G. club of the Rcbekahs
will meet at the home of Mrs. Paul
Pettyjohn June 28.
Mrs. Ruby Kincaid, Mrs- Ralph
Aldrich and sons and Joan Cole
man attended Youth for Christ
meeting in Pendleton Saturday
night.
Mrs. Billy Eubanks of Portland
visited her mother, Mrs. Ada Can
non last week.
Mrs. Agnes Wilcon returned to
lone Friday of last wek.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Ware who
have been visiting at the home of
lhir daughter, Mrs. Noel Dobyns,
returned to their home in Olympia,
Wash, last Friday. Their grand
daughter, Dorothy Dobyns, went
with them for a visit.

Peterson and June Griffith.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clark of
San Jose Calif, visited with Mrs.
Mary Swanson and Mr. and Mrs- C.
W. Swanson for a few days. Mr.
Clark is a nephew of C. W. Swan
son and the late Emil Swanson.
John Merrill, studtnt minister,
held services at the Cooperative
church Sunday and will hold ser
vices there the remainder of the
