TWO NEW RECRUITS 1
The army recruiting office in
Pendleton announced the enlist
ment of two men from Heppner:
Howard Bacon, son of Mr. and Mrs.
G. C. Bacon, and Herbert Crump,
son of Mrs. Delia Crump, Washou
gal, Wash. Howard enlisted for 18
months and will go into the regu
lar army, unassigned, while Herbert
enlisted for three years and chose
his assignment in the air corps for
duty in the European theatre.
Misses Betty Marie Coxen and
Louise Green were home from La
Grande for Easter. Miss Helen
Culp of Vale, accompanied Louise
and was a guest at the Alex Green
home. All three girls are students
at Eastern Oregon College of Edu
cation.
