Editor's Note: Under the heading
Forest and Range members of
. the Heppner Ranger's office will
keep the public informed on
matters of interest relative to the
Forest Service in this area. It is
the aim of the contributors to
have something in each week
until the fire season, at least,
and even then if there is One
who can find time for it.
' Plans have been made in tne last
week for our annual spring main
tenance of 17; miles of telephone
line. 104 mile's of trail and 405
miles of forest roads aU on t&e
Heppner Ranger district. Blade
maintenance work on roads will be
done by a crew from Pendleton
and will use a patrol grader
post and pole permits have been
issued recently to Jeff Walker, E.
Dougherty and Harry ft8
addition to some for his own use.

poles to repair the corrals and fen
ces at the Rodeo grounds,

Prairie to measure the depth and

Sylvia McDaniels has been em
ployed to work in the Heppner
Ranger district office as clerk tor
the coming summer. She wU start
the first of April. Sylvia has work
ed for the Forest Service for the
last two summers as lookout.
