    Boundary Changes
Reduce Heppner
Forest Territory
The recent reorganization of the
Umatilla national forest has made
several changes in ranger district
boundaries. The Heppner rantrer
district was reduced in size by add.
ing the Ellis guard station area to
the Ukiah district. All of the area
east of Big Potamus creek, Ar
Lookout, and Arbuckle Corral is
now a part of the Ukiah district.
This area includes the Five Mile
cattle range, and Silver Creek, Mat.
lock and Thompson Flat sheep al
lotments. The Ukiah ranger station will be
a year-long station where formerly
the headquarters were moved to
Pendleton during the winter months.
Edgar J. Parker, formerly of Hepp
ner, has been the ranger at Ukiah
the past two years but recently was
transferred as ranger to Bend, Ore.

Pioneer Residnt
Dies at Klamath Falls
Word comes from Klamath Falls
of the passing of Mrs. Harriet
Baird there on March 1. Death fol
lowed an illness of one week. Ser
vices were held in the First Chris
tian church, the pastor, Rev. How
ard Hutchins, oficiating. Interment
was made in the Linkville ceme
tery. Mrs. Baird was a resident of Mor
row county for more than 50 years,
