Forrest C. Aldrich died Monday
Jan. 23 and was buried in the
Hermiston cemetery Wednesday af
ternoon after services were held
by Rev. Wallace Winquist of the
Community Baptist church. He is
survived by his wife and five chil
dren, Mrs. Lorna Kines, Stockton;
Lloyd Aldrich, Tillamook; and Mrs.
Rena Seites and his sons Glen and
Fred of Irrigon. The children were
all home. There are also four grand
children .

The Irrigon basketball team was
defeated by the Umatilla team
Tuesday evening. The fire equip
ment committee sold pies that the
ladies of the community furnish
ed. The money was added to the
equipment fund.
Mrs. C. W. Acock and son C. W
Jr. were Pendleton visitors Wed
nesday as were theEmery Bedi
wells. The Floyd Provancho family are
moving to Umatilla where Mr. Pro-

vice station for a year.
The Lester Seites are moving on
to the AHrich place for a while.
Henry Miller has rented the Her
man Duus farm land and is start
ing spring work.
Mrs. Cora Haskell of Benton City
is visiting in Irrigon. The Haskells
formerly owned the J. O. Swerin
gen place.
The patrons of the Irrigon school
had a shower for Mrs. Benny Mc
Coy (Florabel Eddy) with a mock
wedding. A beautiful angel cake
was baked by the groom's mother,
Mrs. R. M. McCoy. The refresh
ments consisted of ice cream, cake
and coffee. The bride cut the cake

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Smith return
ed Thursday from a few days in
Walla Walla at the home of Mr.
Smith's daughter, Mrs. H. D,
Henry.
Mrs. Pemberton of Kendrick, Ida.
has come to spend some time with
her son James Henderson and
family.
Martin A.bken and LaVern Wil
liams went to Portland Wednesday
and returned Thursday.
Chester Wilson left Friday for
his home in Council, Ida. after
spending two weeks helping with
the Assembly of God parsonage
and getting his own house on his
lots. He already had the lumber
purchased and hauled. The church
people are finishing it to use as a
church while they are buildng an
other church where the other one
burned down.

after which he will receive his dis
charge at a separation center yet
to be designated. He has spent two
and one half years over seas as a
radiocan on a weather charting
ship over around Japan.
George Irvin has returned to
San Diego following a short leave
from the naval station there.
Mrs. Archie Munkers was a visit
or in Pendleton Tuesday.
Mrs. Edna Fetsch entertained the
ladies of the Rebekah lodge at her
farm hoihe Tuesday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Matthews of
Pendleton were Sunday visitors at
the Oscar Breeding home.
Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Majeske and
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. McMillan were
transacting business in Pendleton

to the hospital at Prairie City Sun
