MOLLAHAN, Sheriff, Morrow County, Oregon By FRANCES MITCHELL 41-45 Deputy Few Changes Made In Angling Rules Few changes were made by the Oregon State Game commission to day in the tentative angling regula tions set at its meeting two weeks ago. The general trout season will be from April 20 to October 31, inclu sive, except in Lake county the open season will be from May 20 to October 31 and in Harney county, May 4 to October 31. The same baa; limit as last year will nrevail. 15 fish or 15 pounds and 1 fish a day, with the possession limit 30 pounds and 2 fish. Winter fishing of trout ten inches and over in length in the coastal waters wll be stopped as soon as the new order of the commission becomes effective about February 8. Salmon and steelhead 20 inches and over may be taken the year around except m waters which are closed or for which specific seasons have been provided. This applies also to jack salmon, striped bass, shad and sturgeon. Shiny-rayed fish may be taken the year around ex cept that in Klamath county the season for black bass is closed dur ing May and June. It was decided to leave the bag limit for East Lake in Deschutes county the same as it was last year, ten fish, instead of 5 fish as tenta tively announced before. The com mission decided to assign a biologist to study conditions at East and Pau lina lakes, and also one for Diamond lake so that more adequate inform ation can be obtained for future management policies. It is also plan ned to study conditions at Owyhee reservoir before taking action on the local recommendation- for an early trout season. The complete angling regulations for 1946 will be available in printed form and in the hands of license agents for distrbution shortly after March 1. Balanced!
