Mrs. H. A. Cohn and Mrs. E. O.

HERE FROM PORTLAND
Mrs. Leta Babb is a guest at the
J. V. Crawford home. Mrs. Craw
ford drove to Arlington Tuesday
to meet her mother, who resides
in Portland.
ON BUSINESS TRIP
Mrs. L. E. Dick, Jr., is spending
a few days in Portland in. the in
terest of her flower shop. She ac
companied Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Dick
Sr. who drove to the city Monday.

HERE ON VISIT
Ellis Thomson is spending a few
days in Heppner visiting relatives
and friends. He came from Portland
where he visted for some time at
the home of his brother, Earl Thom
son, and family. Earl, a member of
the Portland police force, accom
panied his brother.

A family reunion of the Thorpe
family was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Nathan Thorpe Sunday.
Those present were Mr. and Mrs.
Ha.rry Thorpe, Addis and Berna
dine Emerson, Mrs. Margaret Bill
ingsley and son Eddy all of Her
miston, Mr. -and Mrs. Leonard
Thorpe and daughter Sharon of
Sheridan, Ore., Mr. and Mrs. Isaac
Thorpe and children Jeanie and
and Franklin of Prineville, Mrs.
Myra Morrili and daughter Joyce
and Lester Thorpe of Portland and
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thorpe of
Walla Walla.
The Yellowjackets played three
games last week and were defeated
twice. Tuesday Jan. 22 they played
the Umatilla Vikings on the local
floor, both first and second strings
losing to the Vikings.
Friday, Jan. 25 they played lone
Cardinals there. The second string
won but the first string lost 45 to
46. The grade team also played that
night and were defeated.
Saturday night the Arlington
Honkers were defeated by the Yel
lowjackets 49 to 16. The Boardman
second team won 24-2.
The young married women's club
nesday, Jan. 23. Those present were
Zoe Billings, Jeanie West, Velma
Potts, Myrtle Ely, Blanche Fussell,
Margaret Peterson, Evelyn Black
and Marie Lehman. During the
evening a club quilt was started.
Cream puffs and coffee were serv
ed. It will meet with Mrs. Black
next month.
Marie Potts broke her arm while
playing on the tumbling mats at
school Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Claud Coats mo
tored to Hardmnn to visit Mr.
Coats' mother there over the week
end. Mrs. Zoe Billings's mother,
Mrs. McDaniel returned with them
to her home after spending a week
here with the Billings family.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller drove
to Portland Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderegg
and daughter Barbara were dinner
guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Mulligan Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. George Linn. Sr. of
Ordnance spent Saturday evening
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George
Linn Jr.
Hat and coat sale at Anderson
and Wilson, Women's Apparel will
continue into February.
