Girl Scout troop II met Saturday
in the Methodist church basement.
Very interesting essays on "Birds"
that had been written by girls for
second class badge, were read to
the other troop members.
An election was held for Patrol
leaders. Nancy Ferguson was elect
ed patrol leader of the second class
scout group: Gayle Albert was

elected patrol leader of the Ten
derfoot group and Lynn Wright
was elected patrol leader of the
Brownie group of this troop.
Recently this troop collected belt
buckles and seven pounds of silk
scraps which were sent to the Vet
erans hospital at Walla Walla. A
letter thanking the troop for this
contribution was read.
The Tenderfoot group worked on
tying knots and bandaging and
were able to pass two tests toward
Second Class badge.
COUNTY UNIT OF OSTA
MEETS AT LEXINGTON
A meeting of the Morrow county
unit of the Oregon State Teachers'
association will be held at Lexing
ton this evening. Matters of interest
to teachers and schools will be dis
cussed and recommendations given
the county's delegate to present to
the state meeting in Portland Nov.
30-Dec. 1.
vMrs. Irl Clary is president of the
local group and its representative
at the state meeting. Other officers
are B. C. Forsythe, lone, vice pres
ident; Miss Janet Curtis, Heppner
secretary, and Mrs. Joyce Smith,
Irrigon, treasurer.
VISITING SISTER
John Wardwell, resident of Okla
homa, is visiting at the R. E. AU
stott home in Hermiston. He is
Mrs. Allstott's brother. His son Eu
gene also lives at Hermiston.
