6 Heppner Gazette Times, October 4, 1945 Hodge Chevrolet Company Heppner, Oregon Phone 403 Heppner, Oregon, October 1945 To the People of Morrow County: Since Pearl Harbor all of us have experienced many unusual problems. Our sons, relatives and friends are away finishing a great war in order to preserve for the American people their most precious possession liberty. Sacrifice, community services, war services, longer hours, ex tra effort, all were a part of the scheme to win this war. During the past four years our desire to render efficient service was greatly hampered by shortage of material and manpower. I know that you have occasionally been disappointed by the kind of service we were able to give you under war conditions. Through it all you have been patient and understanding and did not complain. So in all sincerity let me say to you, thanks a million, I truly appreciate your cooperation and patience during these wartime years. In conclusion we wish to announce to you that we now have a complete motor tune up and front end alignment man with the very latest in front end alignment and motor tune up equipment which we have just installed. We believe this to be the most modern and complete equipment ever installed in Morrow County. We have been able to also secure just recently some of our old time mechan ics who have been in the service. Also, most parts are now avail able for your car. We promise to give you more efficient, quicker and more cour teous service in the post-war period than ever before. This will be our contribution, to rededicate ourselves to the nation in making a good job available for every returning serviceman. So again, thanks a million and with best wishes for a very successful future, I am Yours very truly, Hodge Chevrolet Company C. L. Hodge
