By MBS. MAKY EDWARDS Mrs. Chas. Buchanan was taken to St. Anthony's hospital in Pen dleton last Friday where she un derwent a major operation Satur day morning. She is reported to be getting along fine. Mrs. George Bye drove to Pendle ton Tuesday and brought her hus band home from the hospital where he has been receiving treatment for a leg injury received some time ago when a piece of steel broke and injured an artery. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wallace are the parents of a nine pound son born Saturday at the Mollahan nursing home. Pvt Wallace is in the army overseas and Mrs. Wallace makes her home in Lexington with her parents. Miss Edith Edwards of Spokane spent the week-end at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Pete McMillan spent several days last week visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gus McMil lan. Miss Patty OHarra spent the week-end at the home of her par ents, Mr. a.nd Mrs. Newt O'Harra. Patty is a cadet nurse at The Dal les hospital and reports that she finds her work very interesting. Pvt Buel Harshman who has been visiting his wife and family left Monday to report at Fort Sill, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Don Gosnell and daughter returned Monday from a vacation spent at coast points. Miss Marcella Jackson left for Eugene Thursday where she is a student at he University ot Oregon. Mrs. Eula Barnhouse and daugh er returned to Portland Thursday. Mrs. Barnhouse is a student at Behnke- Walker Business college and Jean will attend St. Mary's aca demy. School got off to a good start Monday morning with the largest attendance we have had for a num ber of years.
