Irrigon News Notes

At a beautiful ceremony at 8 p.
m. Wednesday, July 25, Kathleen
Poulscn. daughter of Mr. and Mxs.
James I. Phillips, and Robert Spra
gue were united in marriage at the
Assembly of God church in Irrigon.
The bride given in marriage by her
father, was gowned in white satin
marquisette. Butterflies of seed
pearls adorned the skirt and train
of the dress. She carried a bouquet
of white carnations and pink rose
buds.. The bride has lived in Irri
gon most of her life. She was val
edictorian of the class of 1945 and
is one of the group of Christ's am
bassadors of the local Assembly of
God church. The groom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Sprague of
Sequim, Wash, and is a staff ser
gant of the 15th Air Force where he
servd as a bombardier in engage
ments in Italy. Rev. Albert B. Tur
ner read the impressive service.
McCoy Smith, brother-inlaw of the
groom, acted as best man while
LaVelle Markham was maid of hon
or. Other attendants were Delpha
Markham, Clara Fraser. Ella Mae
Grimm. Leonard Aldrich, Charles
Acock and Russell McCoy. David
wedding march was played by Miss
and Herert Rand were ushers. The
Mary Cotton of Stanfield. Mrs. Har
vey Warner sang "I Love You Tru
.ly and Because. A reception was
held at the home of Mr and Mrs.
J. E. McCoy following the cere
mony. The young couple will have
a brief honeymoon at the lakes near
the groom's home.Sgt Sprague will
report at Santa Ana Aug 21. for re
assignment for duty.
Out of town guests for the Poul-son-Sprague
wedding were Mr. and
Mrs. E. R. Sprague, Mr. and Mrs.
Neil Smith and small son, Mr. and
Mrs McCoy Smith, all of Sequim,

Gollyhorn's grandmother went with
them but will return later.
Mrs. Joyce Pickett and sister Eva
from Portland are visiting at Carl
Haddock's. They will take a load of
furnitture back with them. .
Mrs. Zetha Warner and two dau
ghters were Ordnance visitors Tues
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wilson and
three children moved from New
Meadow Ida. Tuesday and are visit,
ing his mother Mrs Nora Wilson.
Mrs Ruth Umiker returned Sat
urday from a Pendleton hospital
where she spent more than 10 days
being treated.
Warren McCoy is home from Ba
nriaa River, Fla. visiting his par.
ents the R. M. McCoys and other
relatives and friends.
Rev. S. E. Gregg of Vanport
preached in Irrigon at the Commu
nity church and will be here the
following Sunday.
Mrs. Mildred Haney and son
Wesley of Spokane arrived Sunday
to visit her daughter Virginia Al
len and small son Kenneth.
