Constitution. -Notice
is hereby given that an
election will be held at 2 p. m. on
Thursday the 12th dav of July 1945
in School District Number 1 of
Morrow County, State of Oregon,
at the City Hall in said school dis
trict, for the purpose of submitting
to the legal voters of said district
the question of increasing the tax
levy for the year 1945, over the
amount limited by section 11, arti
cle XI, of the Constitution of Ore
gon. The reasons for increasing such
levy are: Increased cost of operat
ing schools and for special im
provement fund.

The minutes of the April term were
read and approved.
The Court gives L. H. Clawson Co.
the contract for insulating the Court
house for $550.
The Court orders the transfer of the
amoun of $5,000.00 from the General
Road fund to the General fund.
The Court orders the purchase of
ten U. S. War Savihgs Bonds of one
thousand dollars each, $9,000 from
Road Sinking fund and $1,000 from
Fair fund.
The Court orders dance hall license
issued to Rhea Creek Grange No. 6G9
for the year 1945.
The Court appoints the following
members to draw up a budget of Mor
row county for the fiscal year July 1,
1945 to June 30, 1946: C. N. Jones, Al
va Jones, Leonard Carlson, Chas. Bar
tholomew and A. C. Houghton. The
committee will meet on Thursday,
May 17, 1945 at 10 A. M. Publication
of the budget will be made on the 7th
and 14th day of June, 1945.

is a lieutenant seeing service over
seas. The visitors returned to their
home Monday.
Kenneth Batty, Monument, was
in Heppner Tuesday attending to
business matters.
AMM lc and Mrs.Robert Deeter
left Thursday for Jacksonville, Fla.
after spending some time with Mr.
Deeter's mother, Mrs. W. F. Barkla.
He served many months in the
Aleutians and has gone to Jackson
ville for reassignment.
