Among those home from Eastern Oregon Col lege of Education at La Grande are Louise Green and Doris and Dorothy Worden. The latter two will work in Walla Walla this summer. Word comes that Pvt. Vester D. Hams has arrived at Baxter Gener al hospital, Spokane from Asiatic Pacific theater of opertions. He was- transferred fom the convales cent hospital at Miama Beach, Fla. Mrs. Harold Cohn left Heppner Monday afternoon with a car load of girls to attend the Youth Con ference at Cove for ten days. The girls accompanying Mrs. Cohn were her daughter Sally, and the Misses Harriet and Eileen Ball. Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Bailey went to Grass Valley this morning to attend the wedding of their son Francis and Miss Dorothy Ball of Grass Valley. Walter Skuzeski S lc has com pleted his course in a radio school In California and visited friends in Heppner for a few days. Even though home, officially speaking, is in San Francisco Walt felt the necessity of setting foot on his na tive soil before going over-seas. Mrs. Fred Parrish entertaind with a dinner party in his behalf Tues day evening. Miss Laurel Ball en tertained at the Lucas Place on Wednesday evening. He returned to San Francisco this morning. 7 He has e a fried the right to go to college Many veterans want to go to college jpon their return to civilian Ufa. Oregon's population is growing. Buildings, modernization and repairs ire needed. The money is av ailable without additional taxes. But the State Building Fund needs a yt vot. Go to :he polls June 22 and vote 300 YES.
