Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gorger and
Mrs Laura Driskell came over
from Walla Walla Saturday to at
tend the Hughes funeral. George
Hughes of Vancouver came Satur
day also.
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Juday return
ed Tuesday to their home in Port
land. Mrs. Juday was here helping
care for her mother, Mrs Sam
Hughes.
Mrs. Frances P. Mitchell and
daughter Lorene, have returned to
Heppner from Joseph to make
their home. Mrs. Mitchell's father,
F S. Parker, met thm in Pendleton
Tuesday and brought them on to
Heppner.
Pvt Homer Hager arrived Friday
night from his army duties to spend
his furlough with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. O. Hager and sister,
Harriet. He expects to leave next
Tuesday for San Antonio Texas,
on reassignment.
Miss Florence Bergstrom and
Mrs. Louise King are spending
their vacations in Portland this
week. Miss Bergstrom is employed
in the county agent's office and
Mrs. King in the bank.
