Telegrams from the Secretary of
War have been received concerning
Jack Miles and Ra(ph Skoubo by
their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Miles and Mr. and Mrs. I. Skoubo
this week stating that the boys are
now under military control. Letters
were also received from the boys
who at that time were in France.
Helen Ekker, former resident of
Boardman visited friends on the
project en route to San Francisco
this week.
Doris Wilson who is now employ
ed by R. E. A. moved to Hermiston
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Adolf Skoubo, Er
na, Gunnar and Leo Skoubo, Helen
Ekker, Elizabeth Trarbaugh and

by the Chas. Falconer family. Mr.

Sherran and Larry Watts left for
Union Saturday to spend several
weeks with their grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs Lilly motored to La
Grande Friday after receiving word
that Mr. Lilly's sister passed away.
A farewll potluck dinner will be
iiven for the Lillys Thursday eve
ning at the grange hall.
Jack Rinehart has been spend
ing several days in Portland visit
ing friends and relatives.
Audres Wilson left lor Portland
by bus Wednesday, to spend the
summer.
Mrs. Lucy French of Grants Pass
and Mrs Neeley Burkitt of Port
land have 'been guests of the A. E.
McFarlands the past week.
Dagmar Skoubo accompanied her
parents home Friday night. .Dag
mar has been residing with Bishop
and Mrs. W. P. Remington the past
.school year.
I Miss Dorothy Roach returned
home Sunday after attending school
in Burlington, Wash, while living
with her aunt.
The deadline for Skoubo aspera
gus will be June 5 when they will
quit cutting.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Allen went
to Tacoma to attend graduation
exercises of their son Clayton.
Richard and Jackie Mulligan ac
companied their grandmother to
Portland this week where they will
spenc! the summer.
