Camp Wetmore News
By Mrs. Arthur Watkins
The stormy March found Wet
more camp unusually quiet due to
the spring vacation. Among those
who have gone for a few days of
shopping and recreation are: Mr.
and Mrs. Forrest Samples and son
Dennis; Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Rhoton;
Mr. and Mrs. Finley Kelly; Mr. and
Mrs. W. W. Benton and son Jimmy;
Mr. and Mrs. Thorny Schoolcraft
and Hazel; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wea
ver; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shan
non and children; Mr. and Mrs. Al
gy Taylor and grandson Bob; Mr.
and Mrs. Verne Randall; Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Banton and chilldren.
While trucks and the "cats" are
being overhauled, the train has
been loaded at Spur Seven. This
sometimes has a way of delaying
our mail service but when the mail
does come we do read.
Mrs. Stella Weir from Toppen
ish, Wash, is visiting her two dau
Mrs Bill Betts and Mrs. Riffel.
Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Provo have
moved to Vancouver Wash, where
they will make their future home.
Larry Cook, our distinguished
trouble shooter, finds pleasant
strolling on the "side walks of Wet
more" these evenings while he is
obliged to remain in camp, due to
the tie-up of the speeder.
Mrs. Moore of Pendleton is visit
ing with her son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Moore.
Arthur Watkins is again in the
hospital at The Dalles recuperating
from a serious operation.
M. Tanner is a new employe at
Wetmore.
Mr. Northrup will be in Wet
more Camp every Wednesday to
render any first aid service to all
employes and their families. This
will be greatly appreciated as we
are far away from medical care.
Spring seems a long ways off in
these hills, however the school
children are looking for a dry place
for the Easter Egg hunt. Many
beautiful Easter posters have been
made by the school children.
Attend the show Tuesday night.
Sponsored by O. E. S. No. 32.
