reports by farmers from the
22nd district few of whom often
hire many men, especially in these
days when few men are obtainable.
A bill being written that will
give the state sole ownership of all
slot machines, pinball machines and
other similar devices for snaring
the unwary nickel, dime or dollar.
The state would be empowered to
lease such machines on somewhat
the same basis as ait present giving
the owner of pool halls, restau
rants, taverns, etc, a percentage
comparable to the present owner
of the machines. The income so de
rived would go 25 percent to cit
ies, 25 percent to counties and 50
percent to the state for aid to aged
citizens. It is not expected that the
present owners of these machines
will agree to let die machines get
out of their possession without a
struggle.
