HORSELESS COWBOYS
Wild! horses are getting so nu
merous in southeastern Oregon
they encroach on the range grass
of the cattle herds reports of state
range wardens reveal. Last week
80 cowboys went out intent on
rounding up 500 of the wild
moochers. But now there are more
wild horses than before. Not only
did the wild band give the raiders
the slip but sold the idea of demo
cracy and freedom to 25 of the
cowboys' saddle horses. The boys
have abandoned their round-up
plan and will settle for their own
25 ponies.
