6 Heppner Gazette Times, May 25, 1944 Cub Scouts Plan For Pack Meeting At a meeting held at Orville Smith's home Thursday May 18, plans were made for the monthly pack meeting to be held at the Rodeo grounds at 5 p. m. Monday May 29. Those in attendance were Father McCarmack, cub master; Mrs. Cornett Green, Den mother of Den I; Mrs. Conley Lanham, Den II; Ooolejr Imihn chalrmaa at pack committee and Orville Smith, treas urer. The pack meeting is part of the program outlined for cubbdng. Each month there is a different theme to be carried out. For this month it is the Indian theme. Cubs will demon strate the skill they have acquired at their den meetings by erecting teepees, and other Indian regalia. They are expected to turn out for the meeting in their home made In dian costumes with their head bands, tomahawks, and tom-toms. They will have an opportunity to take part in the popular boy activi ty game of playing "Wild Injun". Cub mothers and Dads are urged to attend this meeting and lend their support and encouragement to this healthy activity. The program will also include a weiner roast and competition in the various feats of strength and skill. Prizes will be awarded to the den having the most points. McCaleb, son of W. L. McCaleb also of Heppner, were married Thursday evening, May 18, at the home of Rev. Eugene Parrish in Coffeyville, Kansas. The ring ceremony was read before an alttar arrangement of lavender and white iris, ferns and roses. Mrs. A. L. Willcoxon, played the wedding music and accompanied Miss Mar garet Buckner, who sang "Because" preceding the ceremony. The bride wore an aqua blue suit with white accessories and a cor sage of pink rosebuds and stepha notis. Miss Beverley Willsoxon, her only attendant wore a rose summer suit with white accessories and cor sage of white carnations. Best man was Denzil McKee and ushers were Pfc Arthur Simmons and Sgt Everett Ympa. Approximately 30 guests were present at the wedding and recep tion which followed. After a short honeymoon in Tulsa, Oklahoma, -the young couple will be at home in Coffeyville where Pfc McCaleb is now stationed in the army air forces.
