J. W. Maloney. Collector of Inter
nal Revenue, today called to the
attention of all emjployers who are
required to withhold income tax
from the wages of their employees
that the returns of this tax are now
due and must be filed with the of
fice of the collector of internal re
venue, Portland, Oregon, not later
than Oct. 31, 1943. .
Mr. Maloney said that unusually
severe penalties are imposed under
this new act for any failure to file
the returns in time to reach the
collector's office within the time
specified above. There is a mini-
mum additioin to the tax of $20.00
for the failure to file return and
