Members and visitors of the Mis sionary Society enjoyed an inter esting program Thursday. Mrs- Min nie Forbes and Mrs. Henry Smouse were hostesses. Glen Burroughs returned to his home at Kirksville. Mo. Thursday after visiting several days with his mother, Mr. Ida Burroughs. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Garland Swanson on Aug. 9 at St. Anthony hospital, Pendleton, a son. John Emil, weight eight pounds. Elmer Griffith, accompanied Dr. Chick to Hood River Wednesday to visit his daughter, Mrs Elvin Miller. Relatives and friends of the Bris tow family who came from a dis tance for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Bristow and family of Nampa, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Swenson and two daughters, Phylis and Dorothy, of Walla Walla; also from Walla Walla were Mrs. Frank Lancing, Miss Velma Wade, Mrs. John Vorhees. George Dague and Roland Wade; D. W. Glasgow of Spokane; Ross and Sam Esteb of Seattle; Mr. and Mrs- Everett Keithley and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wright of Baker; Dr. C. C. Chick and Mrs. Myers of Hood River, and Mrs. Mable Hillary of British Co lumbia. Mrs. Grace Misner of Thornton Wash, accompanied her granddaugh ter, Mrs. Alvin Bunch and son Jer ry on their return home Wednes day evening and plans to make a visit with her daughter Mrs. Fred Mankin. Mrs. Roy Lindstrom and Miss June Grifiith returned home Wed nesday evening after a few days in Portland. A farewell party was given Mr. and Mrs. Carl Feldman at the close of the O. E. S. meeting Wednesday evening. The Feldmans are prepar ing to move to Sunnydale Calif, soon. The table was nicely decorated with an appropriate center piece and the honored guests were pre sented with a gilt of a pair of lamps. George N.
