competition by 6-Horse Draft

Oregon State High School Press as
sociation conference. The University
of Oregon journalism school is spon
soring the affair.
The conference will open Friday
with round-table discussions of spe
cialized phases during the afternoon
and a get-together banquet in the
evening. Mass meetings Saturday
will culminate in announcement of
the winners of the newspaper judg
ing contest and with election of
1941-42 officers.
Awards are given the best papers
in each classification, the publica
tions being grouped according to
size of school and facilites. Win
ners last year were the Lincoln Car
dinal and Franklin Post of Portland.;
The Scroll, Grants Pass; Hi-Life,
Carlton; Timberline, Vernon, and
the Pendleton Lantern. Entries
