Ad vanced course in music, art, dram atics, curriculum, elementary sup ervision and administration, remed ial teaching and world problems will feature the first summer session at Eastern Oregon College of Educa tion which will open Monday, June 9. Course work toward the B.S. de gree in elementary education will be offered and numbers of former graduates have already tentatively enrolled for their degree work this summer. Two visiting instructors in addition to the regular faculty will give the largest offering in recent years. Plans have been made for evening educational forums, a musical pro duction, demonstrations by super vising teachers in the training school, a visual aids conference, mountain excursions and several college social events. Special courses of interest to practical-minded teachers include the observation of teaching in the Ackerman demonstration school, band and orchestra management, creative writing, play production, junior high school, and the teaching of elementary school science, a sub ject to be introduced into Oregon elementary schools for the first time next fall. Of special interest to school ex ecutives will be the practical courses offered to fulfill the requirements for administrators credentials in Oregon. Schedules Summer Sessions University of Oregon, Eugene, May 29. Six weeks of summer school, in the heart of the Willam ette valley where extra-curricular vacations may be interspersed- with hours of study, is being offered by the University of Oregon thirty-seventh annual summer session begin ning June 16 and continuing until July 26. A post session of four weeks will be held from July 28 to August 22. Work in the summer sessions for which no extra fee for out-of-state residents will be charged is equiv alent in character, method, and cred it value to the work of the regular academic year. Students will register for the six weeks Eugene session on Monday, June 16. Clsses will begin Tuesday morning, June 17, in accordance with the schedule printed in the back of the catalog now being mail-1 ed to those who request it. Examin ations will be held on Thursday and Friday, July 24 and 25. Post session registration will be on Monday, July 28, classes beginning the same mor ning. The curriculum will include an unusually wide variety of courses, with those in English, education physical education, languages, and music offering the broadest courses. The half-million-dollar University of Oregon library, equipped with the latest instructional methods and equipment, will feature almost a dozen courses in library methods, of special value to teachers and prospective teachers. The faculty of 85 will include a large number of regular University of Oregon professors, who will be joined by a number of authorities in their respective fields from edu cational centers of all parts of the west. Among this latter group will be Dr. Hugh Biller, professor of phil osophy at the University of Califor nia at' Los Angeles; Dr. Emest R. Hilgard, professor of psychology, Stanford university, and Dr. Roy F. Nichols, professor of history, Uni versity of Pennsylvania. This law makes it mandatory that the sheriff issue warrants against persons whose personal property taxes are delinquent. These war rants after service upon the tax payer, if not paid, are filed with the county clerk and by him placed up on the jugment docket which there after becomes a lien upon any real or personal property owned by the person against whom the warrant is issued and subject to enforcement as any other execution in a court of record.
