Tuberculosis Test
Given in Schools
The tuberculosis test was given in
various schools throughout the
county April 28 Two hundred and
eighty-five took the test and out of
that number only five children and
five adults were found to react pos
itively. The persons reacting and
others who wanted to go, went to
The Dalles Mav 6 and were fluoro-
scoped. Out of the 23 that were
fluoroscoped only one had to be
x-raved. That shows Morrow coun
ty has been working on this disease.
Early tuberculosis can be cured.
Recovery from tuberculosis in the
advanced stages is a tedious, ex
pensive fight that often ends in
death. That is the reason all persons
in the community are urged to take
this test when it is offered to the
public.

county retains 75 percent of the

we hope to have still a better record.
Licenses Required to
Shoot Predators
Licenses are now required to
shoot or hunt non-game animals or
predators, just as a license is neces
sary to take game animals.
This change came about through
provisions - of Senate Bill No. 147,
granting power to the game com
mission to fix seasons and bag lim
its. Previously, the attorney gen
eral had ruled that no license was
required for shooting of non-game
animals or predators. The recently
enacted legislation which, because
of the emergency clause already in
effect, makes it mandatory for any
person to obtain a license .before
shooting any wild animals or predators.
