NOTICE
On December 2, 1940, an ordin
ance was passed by the City Coun
cil of Heppner, requiring all per
sons keeping livestock within the
City of Heppner" to secure a permit
from the said Council for that pur
pose. This ordinance became ef
fective January 2, 1941.
Application must be made to the
Council jn writing for such permit
and if acted upon favorably by the
said Council, the permit will be
issued by the recorder at a cost of
$1.00.
Notice is hereby given that all
persons, who are keeping horses,
cattle or sheep, within the city lim
its of the City of Heppner, must
secure a permit on or before March
1st, 1941.

NOTICE OF BOND SALE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
sealed bids shall be received by the
undersigned until the hour of 7:30
o'clock, P. M., on the 8th day of
February, 1941, and immediately
thereafter publicly opened by the
District School Board of Union High
School No. 1, Morrow County, Ore
gon, at school house in Hardman,
Oregon, for an issue of bonds of said
School District in the amount of
Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000.00);
said bonds to be dated January 15,
1941, and to mature serially in nu
merical order at the rate of One
Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) on the
15th day of July in each of the years
1942 to 1949, inclusive; said bonds
to bear interest at the rate of not
to exceed six per cent (6) per
annum, payable semiannually. The
bonds and interest thereon will be
payable at the Fiscal Agency of the
State of Oregon in New York City,
or at the office of the County Trea
surer, as designated by the success
ful bidder.
Bids must be unconditional and
accompanied by a certified check
in the amount of Two Hundred Dol
lars ($200.00).
The approving legal opinion of
Messrs. Teal, Winfree, McCulloch,
Shuler and Kelley. will be furnished
the successful bidder.
The Board reserves the right to
reject any and all bids.

holders of the Masonic Building As
sociation of Heppner, Oregon, pur
suant to the provisions of that cer
tain deed of trust executed on the
28th day of December, 1935, by said
Masonic Building Association of
Heppner, Oregon, has elected to re
deem those certain bonds, Nos. 14,
24, 29, 38, 47, 60, 67, 68, 71 and 74.

L. Larsen and Delia E. Larsen, hus
band and wife; Helen J. Strain, for
