Starting at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the bazaar will sell fancy work, aprons, rummage, candy, food, with tea and refreshments to be served. Mrs. D. M. Ward, Mrs. Orve Rasmus and Mrs. B. C. Pinckney are in charge of the apron booth, Mrs. A. D. McMurdo, Mrs. W. H. Cleve land, and Mrs. Alva Jones the candy booth, Mrs. Frank Nickerson and Mrs. Ray Kinne have charge of the food sale, Mrs. Earl Gilliam, Mrs, J. J. Nys and Mrs. Josie Jones the rummage, Mrs. Anne Bayless, Mrs. W. E. Pruvne and Mrs. Frances Blakely the fancy work and Mrs. C. W. McNamer and Mrs. Charles Thomson the rugs. A dinner will be served cafeteria style in the evening from 6 to 8, to which everyone is cordially invited. Mrs. Claude Graham is chairman of this affair, with Mrs. Blaine Isom and Mrs. William Harmon assisting her. A rug will be given away in the evening. iiiHiHWHHiitiimmiininimnmiiiHii At Heppner CHURCHES The Music club was held Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. J. O. Turner. Mrs. Lucy Rodgers was leader, and the theme was American music, comprising cowboy songs, sea shantys and mountain songs and dances. Russell McNeill sang sea shantys, Mrs. Ture Peterson sang cowboy songs, accompanied by Mrs. Turner, and Misses Jean Mcllhinny, Rachel Forsythe and Mary White illustrated mountain songs in solo, duet and trio singing. Dances were given by Mrs. Robert Knox, Martha Blair, Yvonne Bleakman. A vocal solo was sung by Mrs. Frank Tur ner, and a piano solo, "O Susanna," played by Mrs. J. O. Turner. Mrs. Knox and Mrs. Thone were hostesses for the evening and serv ed refreshments at the close. A surprise feature of the evening was a kitchen shower by the mem bers of the music club for two of their members who are recent bride elects, Misses Rachel Forsythe and Mary White. i The Woolgrowers auxiliary will meet Friday at the Lucas Place' for luncheon and business. An inter esting meeting is promised, with reports from the convention held the first of this week in Lakeview. Please notify Mrs. B, C. Pinckney, secretary, if you expect to attend the luncheon. A lovely surprise miscellaneous shower was held last Sunday eve ning at the home of Mrs. W. O. Dix, honoring two new brides-elect, Misses Rachel Forsythe and Mary White. Mrs. Lucy Rodgers and Mrs. Dix were joint hostesses for the affair, which was a supper party. The table was beautifully decora ted with lace cloth, red carnations and red tapers, and the rooms were attractive with barberries and can dles. Mrs. Charles Cox spent Tuesday at Condon where she attended a conference of the American Legion and auxiliary, and then went to Pendleton where she attended a sim ilar conference on Wednesday. Mrs. J. F. Davidson of Seattle, mother of Mrs. William Bennett, ar rived here Tuesday morning to vis it with the Bennetts for a time.
