Fight Card Being
Planned for April
Heppner's fire fighters, let down a
little by the weather man and con
flicting engagements at the time of
their first fight card, are planning
another smoker for some time in
April. Definite date has not been
set but some of the mitt artists are
reported to be warming up for the
affair.
Injuries to some of the boys par
ticipating in the first card will keep
them out of the forthcoming bouts.
Some of them were too anxious to
annihilate their opponents and in
jured themselves. It was a snappy
card throughout, regardless of the
fact that haymakers were lacking.
The main event, Partlow vs. Doney,
was called off in the fourth due to
an injury to Partlow's arm. The
boys mixed it well up to that time.
McCracken took a decision over
Moschella, Marshall outpointed his
opponent, Klocke, Gumm and Hens
ley drew and "Tornado" Partlow
took a decision over "Battling"
Corpe.

At Lexington 30 people assembled
on a hill a few miles to the north
west and enjoyed a program pre

combined Methodist and Christian

ning. DAFFODILS IN DEMAND
J. A. Anglin ordered 2000 daffo
dils for his 10-year anniversary cel
ebration at the Safeway store last
Saturday. He believes he made a
mistake in ordering, for the 2000
posies were nearly gone before noon
and afternoon customers were dis
appointed. Had the order been 5000
it would have been nearer the right
number, he says.
