BOARDMAN NEWS
North County Fair
Pronounced Success
By MRS. CLAUD COATS
The North Morrow County fair
was held in Boardman Friday and
Saturday with a large crowd attend
ing. The fair was considered a sue
cess.
Mrs. Elvin Ely and children, Max-
ine, Ora and Allan, visited Mrs.
Mary Davidson and. family, the for
mer's sister, at Hood River over the
week end
Mr. and Mrs. Willard Nickerson
and family are visiting friends and
relatives on the project. They plan
to stay about two weeks
Miss Esther Jones, who is working
at La Grande, was here over the
week end.
Miss Maxine Mackan, former res
ident of Boardman, visited friends
and relatives Saturday and Sunday
She is working in Fossil now.
Mrs. Olive Atteberry returned
home Saturday night. She has been
visiting her children in southern
Oregon for the past several weeks.
Mrs. Alma Rutherford, former res
ident of Boardman, arrived here Fri
day to attend the fair and to visit
friends. She returned to her home
in Stanfield Tuesday.
Gilbert Petteys is now employed
in the Hancock service station. Mrs.
Petteys grandmother, Mrs. McRey
nolds, is here taking care of the
children.
Elizabeth Kristenson, who is at
tending high school in Hermiston,
returned home for the week end.
Ldren Blayden of Kennewick was
visiting here the first of the week.
Mr. Blayden is the brother of Mrs.
J. F. Gorham.
Jack Gorham made a business trip
to Yakima Monday.
Mrs. J. F. Gorham who has been
in the Hermiston hospital for over
two months returned to her home
in Boardman Sunday. We are pleased
to hear that she is much improved
A family dinner was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Barlow
Sunday. Those present were the
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Barlow,
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Barlow, daugh
ter Lucille and Mary Curran of
Heppner, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barlow
and children, Beryl, Susan Rae, of
Eugene, Mr. and Mrs. Truman Mes
senger and children of Meacham
Mr. and Mrs. Z. J. Gilespie and sons
Mr. and Mrs. Claud Coats and
daughter Echo, Ralph Skoubo, the
host and hostess and daughter Car
ma, all of Boardman.
William Harrington returned home
Saturday from Portland where he
had been consulting a dentist.

creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wattenburger
and son Freddie of Pasco spent Sat
urday night and Sunday at the A.
E. Wattenburger home
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wigglesworth
of Echo wefe dinner guests at the
John Harrison home.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Moore, Mrs.
Lois Kent, John Moore and son
Johnny spent Friday afternoon in
Irrigon at the Robert Smith home.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Van Orsdall
of Pendleton spent Sunday at the
E. B. Wattenburger home.
Mrs. Clayton Ayers has rented an
apartment in Heppner and is putting
her children in school there,
The Daly, Healy and O'Brien chil
dren all spent the week end at their
homes. They are attending high
school in Heppner this year,
Mrs. R. E. Brewster of Spokane
is spending a week with her daugh
ter, Mrs. Robert McGreer.

For August Term
BE IT REMEMBERED, That County
Court met in regular session at the
Court House in Heppner, Oregon, on
Wednesday, the 2nd day of August,
1939, this being the regular time for
holding a term of said Court, when were
present: Bert Johnson, Judge; George
N. Peck, Commissioner, L. D. Neill,
commissioner; C. W. Barlow. Clerk:
C. J. D. Bauman, Sheriff; Frank C. Al
fred, District Attorney.
The minutes of the July, 1939, term
were read and approved.
In the Matter of Claims:
Now, at this time, the various claims

Emergency Fund to Rodeo Parade Com-

In the Matter of Disposition of Funds
Received from Oregon Grazing District
No. 7:
WHEREAS, there are to be certain
monies which will accrue to Morrow
County from revenue derived from Ore
gon Grazing District No. 7; and,
WHEREAS, the Oregon Laws of 1935,
Chap. 102. H. B. No. 90, p. 175, approved
February 28, 1935, provides that this
fund must be expended by the County
Court for the benefit of the County in
which the grazing district is situated
m the improvement of the grazing dis
trict contributing such fund;
THEREFORE. TT TS HEBUPV fVR-
DERED that all such funds accredited
to Morrow County and deposited with
the County Treasurer shall be expended
for the benefit of said Erazlne- distrint
upon the recommendation of the' local
advisory board with approval of the
Division of Grazing. All such approved
vouchers to be submitted to the County
Court and paid by warrant against said
fund in the County Treasury.
